It's almost January 15, which means Blue Monday is coming. Blue Monday was called into life by British psychologist Cliff Arnall. According to him, it is the most depressing day of the year, but that has never been scientifically proven :). Although we can understand that the days in January can feel a bit gloomy. This is connected to several factors, such as the gray weather, short and dark days, the end of Christmas cheer and summer is still very far away... Luckily, we have some tips & tricks to get through this day!
Get in motion
Exercise is not only good for your physical health, you will also notice a positive change mentally. Exercise makes your body produce endorphins. This is a hormone that creates a feeling of happiness which, among other things, helps reduce stress. A win-win situation!
Go outside for a walk or run, visit the gym, or do a fun group class, such as Zumba or Yoga.
Plan something fun
Even though summer still feels so far away, you can already orient yourself to a vacation. By looking at tropical destinations, you are already in the summer vibes! Want something to look forward to on short notice? Plan an enjoyable day with your family, partner, or friends. For example, visit a concert or festival together, you are guaranteed to have a good time!
Treat yourself
Instead of self-care sunday, do a self-care monday. Treat yourself to a pleasant massage or get a delicious drink at your favorite coffee shop. Of course, you can also pamper yourself at home, by watching a fun movie on Netflix with your favorite snacks or taking a hot bath. Then put on a mask and take care of the rest of your skin with a fine body oil. Here at Nourished, we are fans of the Activator 7 Body Oil. For a luxurious spa day at home, the At Home Pro Facial Duo from Sans [ceuticals] is perfect. Also, the Instant Glow Face Masque from Retreatment Botanics gives the ultimate luxurious feeling. Would you prefer a single-use mask? Then choose one of Biologi's wonderful masks.
These tips will hopefully get you through Blue Monday (and the rest of January).
