Skin Cycling Natural Skincare Nourished

There is a huge trend going on in the skincare world, have you heard about it? Maybe you've seen it on social media channels like TikTok and Instagram, it's called skin cycling! No, it doesn't have anything to do with bicycles, but it does have a lot to do with creating a great but truly simple and affordable at home skin care routine.

What is skin cycling?

This concept was created by dermatologist Whitney Bowe. Her goal is for everyone to achieve beautiful, radiant skin with a simple, affordable at home skin care routine. The skin cycling routine cycles a few key products and ingredients over 4 days, where every day has a different function and purpose.

Day 1 of the skin cycle is exfoliation night. The second day of the routine is for retinoids and days 3 & 4 are the hydrating and healing nights for the skin. Let's dive deeper on this process in the following paragraphs, we have also selected some natural products to recommend for you to start your own at-home skin cycle routine.

Biologi Bx Reveal Exfoliant Nourished

Night 1 - Exfoliation

Starting off with the first day of the skin cycle, in other words called the exfoliation day. This day you cleanse your face in the evening and pad dry it with a clean towel. The next step is to use a gentle exfoliant and remove dead dry skin cells. We have listed a few of the exfoliants which work wonders for your precious skin:

+ Biologi - Bx Reveal Exfoliant + Exfoliant Mask Brush

+ Sans [ceuticals] - Bio Active Exfoliant

+ Eco Tan - Super Acai Exfoliator

Ere Perez White Tea Elixir Retinol

Night 2 - Retinol

The second night you will begin again with cleansing your face. Gently pat dry your skin, this is an important step on night 2, since you only want to apply a retinol to dry skin. When applying retinol to damp skin, it often won't absorb evenly, leaving you with dry patches. If you have sensitive skin, and are starting a retinol, Dr Whitney Bowe recommends to first apply a little bit of moisturizer on any dry or flaky patches you may have. This functions as a small barrier to protect the sensitised skin. Follow this by applying retinol gently to your entire face. Some beautiful phyto-retinols options include:

+ Ere Perez - White Tea Phyto-Retinol Elixir

+ Wild Crafted Organics - Bakuchiol Cell Regenerating Serum

+ Vela Days - Active Compound Multi-Active Facial Serum

Biologi Bf Restore Face & Body Serum

Nights 3 & 4 - Repairing

On night 3 and 4 you are going to give your skin time to utilize the active ingredients from the nights before. On both nights 3 & 4 you cleanse your face and apply a hydrating serum on damp skin. This allows it nourish and penetrate deeper layers of your skin. Follow with a moisturizer which is focused on healing your skin barrier and you have finished the 4 day skin cycle routine.

Now, repeat and get that stunning glow on your face on a daily base!

Some super serums are:

+ Biologi - Bf Restore Face & Body Serum
