Never heard of Dame Products? Perhaps you have been living under a rock... let us tell you a little more about this amazing sex toy company.
Dame are an incredible female founded & owned brand that create tools for sexual wellbeing. You may have heard of their flagship product Eva II, a hands-free vibrator (and the most crowdfunded sex toy!); or perhaps from their product development arm Dame Labs; or maybe you heard that they sued the MTA in New York over discrimination in advertising between male & female sexual solutions. If this makes you want to know more about Dame then you are in luck. We have 99% of their products in our popular and growing bedroom collection!
Sexual wellness
Now, without further ado we will hand over to the gals from Dame to talk about something we could all use more information on: sexual health.
Hello Nourished Beauty's! We are ready to share some of our most about talked subjects. There’s one important thing to do on a regular basis and feel smart about doing: check in on our sexual wellness and hygiene. To help you out, we put together a quick checklist for a clean bill of sexual health for vulva-owners — whether you’re partnered, single, or somewhere in between.
Check out your nightstand
Check your nightstand inventory and see what needs refreshing: Do you have lube—not just any lube, but a lube that has a texture and smell you enjoy, that also agrees with your body? Are you all stocked up on condoms, vibrators that work and get you off, and wipes for post-sex cleanup? Is that drawer stuffed with things you don’t use anymore, or something that reminds you of your ex? The best advice we can offer is to throw that stuff out and make room for goodies that actually make you feel sexy! It’s comforting, relaxing, and therefore pleasure-promoting to have everything you need for sex and masturbation within reach of your bed.
Check your after-sex habits
Answer this question: what’s your usual post-sex routine? If you need help answering, we can help—make sure you’re 1. peeing after sex to ward away UTIs, and 2. cleaning your vulva with water and only water. Finally, have a conversation with your partner(s) to ensure the entire cleanup routine feels mutual and equitable.
Check your OB/GYN History
Unfortunately, many of our other health routines might have been placed on the back burner whilst we have been living life to the fullest. Take a sec to check when you last went to a gyno appointment. When was the last time you were tested for STIs? Or got a Pap smear? Have you been giving yourself breast self-exams or, if you’re over 40, getting mammograms regularly?
Check in with yourself
Take an intentional look at your mind state and how it’s been interacting with your sex life. Chances are, your mental and emotional equilibrium have been tested as of late—but have you taken steps to alleviate that stress? If not, now might be a great time to seek out a therapist, or try mental health exercises like breathwork and mindful meditation. If you’re partnered, it may be helpful to have a loving state-of-the-union conversation, not necessarily in reaction to a particular event, but in the spirit of preventive maintenance.
Check in on control
A bit less sex-specific, but when so much seems out of our control, it’s important to take stock of the things we can control. Maybe you can’t control how much work you have, but you can decide how many breaks you take to help you get through the day. Maybe you can’t control visiting your family for the holidays, but you can set a call schedule to speak with them weekly. It’s all about what you can control, and while this list starts with sexual health, you can definitely apply all these principles to your physical and emotional wellbeing.
We think it is ready to get vibie....
