Why natural make-up?

One of the biggest benefits of using natural makeup is that it allows your skin to breathe, preventing pores from getting clogged. This results in a smooth finish and lets you enjoy a fresh, natural look. Besides looking better, natural makeup helps reduce skin irritations by avoiding harmful substances that could disrupt the skin's pH balance. The most common toxic ingredients used in cosmetics are: parabens, petroleum derivatives, formaldehyde, triclosan, diethanolamine or BHA. These are the ingrediënts you want to avoid using. Here's a tip from us to go check out the ingredients lists from all of your conventional makeup products.  Nourished's natural makeup range is plant-based, cruelty-free, non-toxic, and environmentally friendly. We also offer a range of vegan make-up.Nourished has the best natural make-up selection.

How do I remove natural make-up?

One of the most important aspects of maintaining radiant, beautiful skin, is taking care of it. While nobody feels like removing their makeup after a long day, it's still essential. Make it easy on yourself and opt for the first cleanse using a cleansing balm or cleansing oil. Apply it to a damp face and use it to remove the majority of your makeup. You might want to use a reusable cotton pad or cloth around the eyes if you prefer. Then, follow up with a second cleanse. The purpose of the second cleanse is to thoroughly clean your skin, allowing it to benefit from the unique qualities of the facial cleanser. Apply a serum and moisturizer, and your skin is ready to go, whether it's for bedtime or a fresh new look.

What make-up suits my skin best?

Makeup is very personal, it takes a while to figure out what does and doesn't work for you. What's the best natural makeup for you (and your skin)? We're happy to give you some tips. Do you have dry or matured skin? Then, it's essential to use as little foundation, concealer, and powder as possible. This actually emphasizes fine lines or dry patches. The best choice is to use hydrating, liquid makeup products. Therefore, go for a liquid foundation, liquid blush and/or bronzer, and try to powder only where necessary. If you have oily or a combined skin, we advise you to avoid products that give an extra glow effect, you don't need that. Instead, go for mattifying products, you'll notice that the glow will naturally come through. Unsure about your skin’s undertone? Then read the article: Determining your skin’s undertone.

How to make the switch?

We can imagine you would love to start and switch up your beauty game and go for natural make up products and do not know where to start. We would recommend at least starting with switching to a natural makeup base such as a concealer foundation, or BB cream. These are the products you apply directly to your skin, so switching to a natural foundation will be nice and soft for your skin. Are you always dealing with sensitive eyes? Then it would also be good to go for a natural mascara and/or eyeliner. Not sure which foundation to choose or what will be the perfect mascara for you?
