Actress, photographer, fashion entrepreneur & new mom Chloe Leenheer talks about her clean & green beauty journey, following her passions & what pregnancy has taught her.
Chloe was in the last days of her pregnancy when we were interviewing and was embodying the innate power & grounded energy that is gifted to a women during this incredible time. It was truly beautiful to witness!
My clean beauty journey started when I was looking for a new natural sunscreen because I found out that I pretty much had the worst of the worst sunscreen ever! Then I started researching the ingredients and what they do to our body. I was shocked to find out that there where a lot of toxic chemicals and hormone disrupting ingredients in most beauty products!
I was also struggling with hormonal acne at the time, which actually didn't change at all even though I changed my diet. It got my thinking about what was really happening, what the cause of the acne was, as it was actually really strange. That was the moment I started my clean beauty journey. It seemed the perfect moment to slowly make the change into clean beauty.
I have been trying quite a few products from the Nourished collection, but if I have to choose my favorite product then it would be the Oat Milk Foundation from Ere Perez....
I try to use as few beauty products as possible during my pregancy, but let's be honest, I look tired and the Oat Milk Foundation just gives me a better complexion. It's the perfect quick fix.
Also I would add a bit of blush for colour and mascara, these three products would be my essentials for a minimal look.
Becoming a mom makes you think back on the lessons one has learned during your own journey of life. I think it is very important to stay true to yourself, when you are with your child but actually for everyone.. everyone should be happy. You should never have to feel that you have to do something because other people think you should.
I never went to acting school or the photoacademy, but people were always saying to me that I had to go and study to reach my goal. But in the end none of that really matters as long as you have the passion to accomplish what you want, and work hard, you will reach your goals.
I think that that is the most important thing is that you are happy with yourself. I hope I can pass that onto my children...
